Motor Bearing

Precautions on the Use of Motor Bearings

(1) Keep the bearing and its surrounding environment clean

Even if the tiny dust invisible to the naked eye enters the bearing, it will increase the wear, vibration and noise of the bearing. Bearings and their surrounding accessories should be kept clean, especially dust and dirt, and tools and working environment must also be kept clean.

(2) Installation should be done carefully

No strong stamping, no direct hammering of the bearing, no pressure transfer through the rolling body is allowed.

(3) Use suitable and accurate installation tools

Try to use special tools, strongly avoid the use of cloth and short fiber and so on.

(4) Prevent the bearing from rusting

When picking up the bearings directly by hand, wash away the sweat on your hands sufficiently and apply high quality mineral oil before operation, especially in the rainy season and summer to prevent rust. However, under certain special operating conditions, bearings can obtain a longer life than traditionally calculated, especially under light loads. These special operating conditions are when the rolling surfaces (tracks and rolling elements) are effectively separated by a lubricant film and the possible surface damage caused by contaminants is limited. In fact, under ideal conditions, so-called permanent bearing life is possible.

Common Problems and Countermeasures in the Use of Motor Bearings

Problem: Strong Metallic Sound

Causes and countermeasures:

  1. Abnormal load: To choose the appropriate assembly clearance and preload.
  2. Poor assembly: To improve the machining accuracy of the shaft, improve the installation method.
  3. Insufficient lubricant: To supply or use suitable lubricant

Problem: Rule Sound

Cause and Countermeasures.

  1. Foreign objects cause trench rust, indentation, scarring: Clean the relevant parts and use clean grease.
  2. Groove flaking: This is due to fatigue wear, please replace the bearing

Problem: Irregular Sound

Causes and Countermeasures.

  1.  Foreign body invasion: To clean the relevant parts and use clean grease.
  2. Clearance is too large: Pay attention to the fit and choose the appropriate clearance.

Steel ball injury: this is because the steel ball fatigue spalling or foreign body jamming, you can replace the bearing.

Problem: Abnormal Temperature Rise

Causes and Countermeasures.

  1. Too much lubricant: To reduce lubricant.
  2. Insufficient lubricant, or unsuitable: To increase lubricant or choose suitable lubricant

Problem: Large Vibration of Shaft Rotation

Causes and Countermeasures:

  1. Bad assembly: To improve the machining accuracy of the shaft and improve the installation method.
  2. Foreign material intrusion: Clean the relevant parts and use clean grease.

Everything you should know about roller bearings

Roller bearings are crucial components in various machinery and equipment, serving the purpose of reducing friction and facilitating smooth rotational motion. This article addresses 10 common questions related to roller bearings, offering insightful answers to help you better understand their functionality and applications. 1. What Are Roller Bearings? Roller bearings are mechanical components designed to support radial and axial loads while allowing for smooth, low-friction rotation. They consist of cylindrical or  tapered roller bearings  arranged in a cage, which helps distribute the load evenly and reduce friction. Roller bearings are widely used in industries such as automotive, manufacturing, and aerospace due to their efficiency and durability. 2. How Do Roller Bearings Work? Roller bearings work by distributing the load over the rolling elements (rollers) rather than the entire surface, which reduces friction. When a load is applied, the rollers roll smoothly, minimizi...

Ball Bearings vs. Roller Bearings: Unraveling the Key Differences

When it comes to understanding the mechanical components that keep our world in motion, bearings play a vital role. Whether you're a seasoned engineer or simply a curious individual looking to gain insights into the world of machinery, you may have wondered about the differences between two crucial types of bearings: ball bearings and roller bearings. In this comprehensive article, we delve into the intricacies of these mechanical marvels, shedding light on their unique features, applications, and advantages. Ball Bearings: The Precision Spheres Ball bearings, as the name suggests, consist of spherical balls that facilitate smooth rolling motion within a mechanical system. These bearings are renowned for their precision and ability to reduce friction, making them an integral part of countless machines and devices. The Anatomy of a Ball Bearing A ball bearing comprises several key components: Outer Ring: The outer ring, also known as the outer race, serves as the outermost part of...

Cylindrical Roller Bearing

Cylindrical Roller Bearing Cylindrical Roller Bearing  with no ribs on the inner ring or outer ring, the inner ring and outer ring can move relative to the axial direction, so it can be used as a free end bearing. Cylindrical roller bearings with double ribs on one side of the inner ring and outer ring and a single rib on the other side of the ring can bear a certain degree of axial load in one direction. Generally, stamping steel cages or solid cages made of copper alloy cars are used. However, there is also a part of the use of polyamide forming cage. Features 1. The roller and the raceway are in line contact or repaired offline contact, with large radial bearing capacity, suitable for bearing heavy loads and impact loads. 2. The friction coefficient is small, suitable for high speed, and the limit speed is close to the deep groove ball bearing. 3. The N type and NU type can move axially, can adapt to the change of the relative position of the shaft and the housing caused ...
